Key deals for interrailing comedy Off The Rails have been secured by UK sales outfit Metro International

The film has sold to Screen Media Ventures in the US, with a release planned for Mothers’ Day 2021 (May 9). Further sales include Canada (Vortex), Australia-New Zealand (Village Roadshow), Spain (DeaPlaneta) and South Africa (Empire Entertainment). 

A joyful comedy, Off The Rails follows three fifty-something women recapturing the interrailing adventures of their youth after a dear friend passes away and leaves them rail tickets. Honouring her last request they take her teenage daughter along with them.

This is the directorial debut for Jules Williamson’s who developed the original idea with Arabella Page Croft of Black Camel Pictures. Written by Jordan Waller the film was shot on location in Europe last and completed post-production last month. Bill Kenwright produced for his UK firm Bill Kenwright Films, in association with Black Camel Pictures and Palma Pictures, of the UK and Spain respectively.

It was the final acting role for US actress Kelly Preston before her death in July this year. Along with Preston, the cast includes Sally Philips, Jenny Seagrove, Elizabeth Dormer Phillips, Ben Miller, Franco Nero and Judi Dench.
